The mission of the John Steven Kellett Foundation is to fund other non-profit organizations1 that serve Greater Houston2 and support worthy causes related to education about, gaining equal rights for, and elimination of discrimination against: gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender people in issues of minority sexual orientation or gender identity or expression. The Foundation prefers to help organizations or activities which, because of the nature of their work or constituencies, do not receive support from traditional funding sources.
1 Funds will only be disbursed to 501(c)(3) organizations. Organizations without their own 501(c)(3) status may collaborate with existing 501(c)(3) organizations for the purposes of their application.
2 Organizations serving Greater Houston are defined as those operating primarily in Harris and the seven surrounding counties of Galveston, Chambers, Liberty, Montgomery, Waller, Fort Bend, and Brazoria.
